Weird MC- Ijoya

Weird MC, a trailblazer in Nigerian music, broke barriers with her hit single “Ijoya.” With its catchy hooks, this fusion of Afrobeats and hip-hop was a dance anthem in Nigeria and beyond. Produced by ace producer Don Jazzy, “Ijoya” remains an unforgettable piece of the mid-2000s Nigerian soundscape, marking Weird MC as a pioneer for women in hip-hop.

Xproject- Lori le

In 2008, Xproject released “Lori Le,” the song that would become their biggest hit. With its upbeat rhythm, catchy lyrics in Yoruba, and feel-good vibes, the track became a sensation across Nigeria. The title, “Lori Le,” means “On Top of It” in English, which added to the song’s appeal as a celebration anthem.

Sugarboi- Hola Hola

Signed to G-Worldwide, Sugarboi made waves in 2016 with his upbeat track “Hola Hola.” The irresistible rhythm, “Hola Hola” was a summer favorite and showed Sugarboi’s potential in the Afrobeats genre. Although his career didn’t produce another hit of this magnitude, “Hola Hola” remains a one-hit wonder classic in Nigerian pop music.

Lyta- Monalisa

After his breakout from YBNL, Lyta dropped “Monalisa” in 2019, which became an instant hit and even had a remix with global afrobeat star Davido. The song, produced by Killertunes, was celebrated for its emotional depth and beautiful melody, striking a chord with fans across Nigeria and beyond. Despite subsequent releases, “Monalisa” remains Lyta’s defining track and a testament to his artistry.

Ay.com- Pass me Ur love

Released in 2009, “Pass Me Ur Luv” by Nigerian artist AY.com quickly became a smash hit and a street anthem back in the day. The song is a combination of Afrobeat rhythms with hip-hop elements, and the chorus and fun lyrics made it an instant favourite

Humble Smith- Osinachi ft Davido

Kent Jones- Don’t Mind

American rapper Kent Jones who was signed to Dj Khaled’s record label “We the Best Music” released “Don’t Mind” in 2016, a track that quickly became a summer hit with its catchy lyrics and unique blend of hip-hop and Caribbean influences.
