If you’re talking about street energy, and a fresh kind of madness in Nigerian music today, the name on everybody’s lips is Odumodublvck. From the Abuja underground rap scene to standing proud on the Headies stage, Odumodu’s journey has been anything but regular. But before the fame, the streaming numbers, and his next rated award trophy, Odumodu was just a young man pushing a dream with relentless drive and his unique sound.

Back then, if you didn’t know him from his hip-hop collective, Anti-World Gangstars, you probably knew him from the countless freestyles around on social media. Even from those early days, you could tell this guy wasn’t trying to fit in; he was building his own lane.

What makes Odumodublvck stand out isn’t just the music; it’s the energy he brings to the table. It’s how he fuses grime, Afrobeats, hip-hop, and even a touch of highlife into a sound that’s unapologetically Nigerian but still global in vibe. The slang, the references, and the confidence scream originality. From “Picanto” to “Declan Rice,” every track has that raw, unfiltered feel that connects straight to the streets.

“Declan Rice” wasn’t just a song; the jam was a movement. The track went viral almost overnight, soundtracking countless TikToks, Instagram reels, and even football commentary. It caught the attention of both local and international fans, and suddenly, everyone wanted a piece of Odumodu’s chaotic genius. Even Declan Rice himself had to show love. And just when some people thought it was a one-hit thing, Odumodu doubled down with EZIOKWU, the album that sealed his spot as the new ‘agba’ rapper in town. The project had bangers on bangers.

Fast forward to 2025, Odumodublvck wins the next rated award at the prestigious Headies Awards, a category that has birthed legends, Rema, Wizkid, Davido, Fireboy DML, and now, Odumodublvck has officially joined the afrobeats superstars.

Odumodu’s rise is proof that staying true to your craft will always pay off, eventually.
