Candy Bleakz Robbed and Assaulted in South Africa — Police Accused of Inaction

Nigerian rapper Candy Bleakz has recounted a harrowing robbery and assault that left her injured, traumatised, and questioning security procedures in Cape Town.
According to the artist, the attack occurred while she was outside her apartment having a cup of coffee. A group of men approached, assaulted her and made off with her gold jewellery — reportedly worth around ₦10 million — all in broad daylight and in full view of building security and police officers.
Video footage shared by Candy Bleakz shows her bleeding and visibly distressed. In the clip, she confronted a police officer at the scene, demanding, “Officer, why did you let them rob me like this? You were there.”
She also revealed that though she reported the robbery, no prompt help was offered — an ambulance arrived late, and she claimed the police refused to pursue the suspects’ vehicle.
As of now, no arrests have been announced, and there’s been no official comment from Cape Town authorities regarding the incident. The event has ignited fresh concerns among Nigerian artists traveling abroad about their safety — especially when flaunting valuables — and raised questions about the effectiveness of security in foreign destinations.
