Apostle Emmanuel Iren, lead pastor of Celebration Church International, has reportedly had his Instagram account, home to over 1.2 million followers, suspended shortly after he shared posts condemning the ongoing killings of Christians in northern Nigeria.

While the exact reason for the suspension remains unclear, many online have linked the action to his recent remarks on the rising violence. According to reports, more than 7,000 Christians have been killed in 2025, with the attacks allegedly carried out by Fulani herders, Boko Haram, and bandits.

The alarming situation has drawn international attention, with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump reportedly warning that continued religious violence could influence future aid to Nigeria.

Pastor Iren confirmed the suspension on X (formerly Twitter) and has since launched a new Instagram page. Supporters have since rallied behind him, urging others to follow and expressing frustration over what they see as a silencing of faith-based voices online.

For now, the details behind the suspension remain unconfirmed, but the incident has reignited debates about freedom of speech, faith, and censorship in Nigeria’s digital space.
