Cristiano Ronaldo’s legacy is set to continue as his son, Cristiano Jr., has been called up to play for Portugal’s Under-15 team. This could be the start of an exciting father-son story in football.

Cristiano Jr., who is 14 years old, is currently training at Al-Nassr’s youth academy in Saudi Arabia. He has already joined the Portugal squad and is preparing for a tournament in Croatia, where they will play against Japan, Greece, and England. This will be his first time playing international football. Ronaldo Sr., a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, is known for leading Portugal to victory in the 2016 European Championship. With a record 136 goals in 219 international games, he is now proudly watching as his eldest son follows in his footsteps.

Cristiano Jr. has already played for the youth teams of big clubs like Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United  before moving to Saudi Arabia with his family. In Italy, Cristiano Jr. impressed by scoring 58 goals, and videos of him doing his dad’s famous ‘Siu’ celebration have become popular online.

Even though he was born in the United States and spent much of his childhood in Spain, giving him the option to play for three different countries, his selection for Portugal shows where his future likely lies. For Portugal, a country shaped by Ronaldo Sr.’s incredible career, Cristiano Jr.’s call-up could mark the start of a new family legacy in football.

Portugal Under-15 will play Japan on May 13, Greece on May 14, and England on May 16 during the Croatia tournament.
