Black culture’s biggest night; The BET Awards held yesterday the 30th of June 2024 at The Peacock Theatre, Los Angeles. Celebrating the industry’s most talented singers, songwriters, actors, athletes, and breakout stars in the game.
The award show lit up Los Angeles with a star-studded celebration of black culture and music.
The ceremony was hosted by talented actress, author, and producer Taraji P. Henson who entertained the guests with her outstanding performances celebrating black excellence in the entertainment industry. Bringing her signature style, humour, and grace to the role is a big job well done to her.
The show opened with an electrifying performance by the real hot girl Megan the stallion setting the stage on fire with her hit singles “BOA” and ‘WHERE THEM GIRLS AT”.

Another key highlight from the ceremony was the “Lifetime Achievement Award” presented to R&B icon Usher Raymond. This section of the ceremony was anchored by industry legends Babyface and L.A. Reid, who presented the award to the icon.

But that’s not all, as securing the bag has always been a thing for the music legend who also took home an award for “Best Male R&B/Pop Artist. It is safe to say the music icon isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, giving us back-to-back hits to date.
A star-studded musical tribute to celebrate his hits over the years was performed by artists like Childish Gambino, Chloe Bailey, Keke Palmer, Summer Walker, Coco Jones, Victoria Monnet and so much more.

The night was also packed with unforgettable performances from some of the biggest names in the music industry dazzling with high-energy renditions and choreography. From Will Smith making a powerful comeback on stage with his new single, “You Can Make It” to breakout star Tyla making her debut on the BET stage with her raw and energetic performance, it was truly a memorable event. Other artists that graced the stage with their talent include the likes of Ms Lauryn Hill, Shaboozey, YG Marley, Sexyy Red, Muni Long, Ice Spice, Glorilla, and many more talented artists.
