Liverpool have secured their second Premier League title and matched Manchester United’s record of 20 top-flight championships, with Arne Slot taking the reins and delivering a win in his very first season as manager.

Sunday’s 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur put them out of Arsenal’s reach with four games still to play, making them just the seventh team in history to wrap up the title this early in the season. It’s been an incredible run, and the fact that they’ve done it with so many matches left shows just how dominant this side has been.

What really makes this title special, though, is the fans. Unlike in 2019/20, when they clinched the title in an empty stadium during the pandemic, this time Liverpool got to celebrate with their supporters at Anfield. When the team lifts the Premier League trophy, it will be the first time they do so in front of their home crowd, and you can just imagine how electric that moment will be.

The atmosphere around Anfield on Sunday was something else. Fans lined the streets to greet the team, and it’s no wonder Slot said the energy from the crowd gave the players a real boost, especially after Tottenham’s early goal from Dominic Solanke in the 12th minute. Despite that, the team dug in and turned the game around in style.

At the heart of it all has been Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian forward has been a standout all season, with 28 goals and 18 assists to his name, contributing to 58% of Liverpool’s total goals in the league 46 out of 80. His performances have been nothing short of sensational, and it’s clear he’s been absolutely crucial to this title win.

Having just signed a new contract, Salah isn’t slowing down. He’s now chasing a piece of history, aiming to become only the second player in Premier League history to hit 20+ goals and 20+ assists in a single season a feat Thierry Henry pulled off back in 2002/03. He’s also closing in on the record for the most goal involvements in a single Premier League season 47, shared by Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer. At this rate, he’ll be breaking records left, right, and center.
