The Emirates was the stage for a pulsating FA Cup clash between Arsenal and defending champions Manchester United. Despite being tipped as favorites, the Gunners fell short in a match that saw United’s grit and precision shine through, even with ten men.

United, under the guidance of Ruben Amorim, arrived with momentum after impressive league performances at the Etihad and Anfield. The first half was a tightly contested affair, with neither side able to find the breakthrough despite several close calls.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 52nd minute when United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, coolly slotted home after a slick pass from Garnacho. The Emirates briefly fell silent as the Red Devils took control. However, the tide turned dramatically when Diogo Dalot received his second yellow card, reducing United to ten men.

Arsenal wasted no time exploiting their numerical advantage. Just minutes later, Gabriel Magalhães pounced on a rebound inside the box, firing a precise shot past Bayındır to level the score at 1–1. The Emirates erupted in celebration, with Arsenal seemingly poised to seize the momentum.

Drama unfolded when Arsenal was awarded a penalty after a contentious foul in the box. Martin Odegaard stepped up with the weight of expectation on his shoulders, but Altay Bayındır had other plans. The United goalkeeper made a stunning save, denying the Arsenal captain and keeping the game on a knife’s edge.

The match remained deadlocked through regulation and extra time, setting the stage for a penalty shootout to decide the tie. United proved flawless under pressure, converting all five of their penalties with ice-cold precision. Arsenal, on the other hand, faltered when Kai Havertz missed as Bayindir saved his spot-kick. United sealed a 5–3 victory in the shootout, sparking jubilant celebrations among their traveling fans.

The win means united would face Leicester city in the coming round of the FA cup.
