The wait is over. After a summer of transfers, tours, and Twitter meltdowns, the Premier League is back, and it wasted no time serving up drama. Gameweek 1 had it all: champions flexing, rivals stumbling, a North London samba show, and a newly promoted side roaring back into the spotlight.

Reds Ride the Emotions: Liverpool 4–2 Bournemouth

Anfield was rocking under the Friday night lights. The champions kicked off with a tribute to Diogo Jota and ended with fireworks on the pitch. New boy Hugo Ekitike scored on debut, Federico Chiesa sealed the win, and Slot’s men showed they’re still hungry. Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo kept it nervy with two goals, but the Reds look ready to defend their crown.

Pep’s Perfect Start: Man City 4–0 Wolves

Haaland haters, look away. The Norwegian bulldozer grabbed two, while new faces Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki added sparkle. Wolves were swept aside like cones in a training drill. Early days, but City already look like they’re playing chess while the rest play checkers.

Calafiori’s Curtain Call: Arsenal 1–0 Man United

The blockbuster clash lived up to its billing. At Old Trafford, Arsenal nicked it thanks to a Riccardo Calafiori’s header. United’s keeper Bayindir flapped at a corner, and the Gunners punished them ruthlessly. Not a classic, but in a rivalry dripping with history, despite United controlling the game, Arsenal left Old Trafford with all the bragging rights.

Spurs Samba: Tottenham 3–0 Burnley

If there were any doubts about Spurs under Thomas Frank, they were answered in style. Richarlison put on a show with a dazzling double, while Mohammed Kudus danced through Burnley’s backline with two assists. Tottenham fans were singing, and for once, it wasn’t out of frustration.

Black Cats Roar: Sunderland 3–0 West Ham

Welcome back to the big time! Sunderland returned to the Premier League after years in the wilderness and stunned West Ham with a ruthless 3–0 win. Goals from Eliezer Mayenda, Dan Ballard, and Wilson Isidor sent the Stadium of Light into ecstasy. If this is a taste of what’s to come, the Black Cats won’t just be here to make up the numbers.
