Enugu’s New Wings

There’s a new bird in the sky—Enugu Air. The freshly launched state-owned airline officially began operations on July 7, 2025, connecting Enugu to Lagos and Abuja.
Spearheaded by Governor Peter Mbah, the airline aims to create jobs, boost tourism, and make regional travel more affordable and accessible. It currently operates with three Embraer jets in its fleet and has plans to expand to cities like Port Harcourt, Owerri, and even international destinations like the UK and China.
XEJet is currently operating Enugu Air while it secures its full aviation certification. Flights can already be booked—and the early response? Solid. The vibe? Hopeful.
In our opinion at DtimesNG, Enugu Air feels like a breath of fresh air—a small yet meaningful step toward a more connected and ambitious future.
