Diamond Platnumz Starts a New Chapter with Quiet Wedding Ceremony

Tanzanian music icon Diamond Platnumz has announced his marriage to fellow artist Zuchu. The couple, who have shared a complex and often private relationship, tied the knot in a traditional Islamic ceremony in Dar es Salaam over the weekend.
This announcement came through an emotional social media post by Diamond, where he reflected on the virtues of patience and silence in the face of adversity. He wrote:
“Among the things I have learnt is the maturity of staying quiet… it requires you to have a heart of patience and specially to have a strong heart when someone or people are spreading evil against you… Although it is not an easy thing, I have seen its benefits and it is huge because your battles are fought by God and it makes you a winner every day.”
Diamond concluded his message with a poignant revelation:
“Anyways: I know each of you has a completely different picture about Diamond Platnumz and getting married, but I just want to tell you today that Diamond Platnumz has ever been married, and there is a day I will tell you how it went.”
The union with Zuchu marks a significant milestone in Diamond’s personal life. The two artists, both signed under the WCB Wasafi label, have been linked romantically since December 2021. Despite public denials and a series of on-and-off speculations, their relationship culminated in a traditional wedding ceremony that was both intimate and culturally rich.
Prior to this, Diamond had announced plans to marry Zuchu before the start of Ramadan in February 2025, during a political rally in Dodoma. This declaration surprised many, especially given his previous statements on the Netflix reality series “Young, Famous & African,” where he described Zuchu as “just his artist.” However, the recent ceremony confirms their commitment to each other.
The wedding was a private affair, attended by close family and friends. Videos and photos from the ceremony have since surfaced on social media, showcasing the couple in traditional attire, exuding joy and unity. Diamond’s cousin and official DJ, Romeo Abdul Jones, also known as Rommy Jones, confirmed the marriage, extending his best wishes to the newlyweds.
This marriage signifies a new chapter for Diamond Platnumz, who has previously been in high-profile relationships with Zari Hassan, Hamisa Mobetto, and Tanasha Donna, with whom he shares children. His union with Zuchu not only reflects personal growth but also a deepening of their artistic collaboration.
As fans and well-wishers celebrate this union, many await further details about the couple’s journey and future plans. For now, the music world rejoices in the harmonious blend of two of its brightest stars.
