Apple Introduces “Invites”, a New App for Creating Custom Invitations

Apple has launched a new app called Invites, which helps users create and manage custom invitations for any event. With the app, you can make invitations, share them, track RSVPs, add photos and videos, and even create a music playlist for the event.
To create invitations, you need an iCloud+ subscription, but anyone can RSVP to the event, even if they don’t have an Apple device or account.
Invites is similar to the app Partiful, which was named Google Play’s Best App of 2024. Partiful has already hinted that Apple copied its idea. Besides Partiful, Invites will compete with other services like Posh, evite, Paperless Post, and Sendo Invitations.
When making an invitation, you can choose a photo from your phone or from the app’s gallery. The app also works with Maps and Weather, so it gives guests directions to the event and updates on the weather. Guests can add their own photos and videos to a shared album, and if they use Apple Music, they can create a playlist for the event that everyone can listen to.
You can also make custom invitations using Apple’s Image Playground and use Apple’s writing tools to help you create the perfect invite. Hosts can share invitations, manage event details, and track RSVPs. They can also decide which details appear in the invite, like the event’s background or location.
Guests can respond to invitations either in the app or on the web, and they can choose how their information is shared. They can also leave or report events if needed.
Apple’s senior director of Worldwide Product Marketing, Brent Chiu-Watson, said, “With Apple Invites, an event comes to life from the moment the invitation is created, and users can share lasting memories even after the event.” The app uses familiar Apple tools like iPhone, iCloud, and Apple Music to make event planning easier.
Apple Invites is free to download on the App Store for iPhones running iOS 18 or later and is also available on the web.
