The 67th Annual Grammy Awards, held on February 2, 2025, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, celebrated outstanding achievements in the music industry including Nigerian artistse Tems stole the spotlight with her second grammy win.   

The Nigerian R&B singer won Best African Music Performance for her soulful track Love Me Jeje, a fusion of Afrobeat and R&B. This victory cements her place on the global stage and underscores the growing influence of Nigerian music.

Tems wasn’t the only standout. The category featured a strong Nigerian presence, with nominees like Yemi Alade (Tomorrow), Asake ft. Wizkid (MMS), and Burna Boy (Higher), a testament to the country’s impact on the music scene.

The 2025 Grammys marked a milestone for Nigerian music, with Tems leading the charge. Her win, alongside her peers’ nominations, proves Nigeria’s undeniable presence in the global industry.

Kendrick Lamar dominated the night, winning Record of the Year and Song of the Year for Not Like Us. Chris Brown claimed Best R&B Album for 11:11, solidifying his place in R&B. Beyoncé made history with Best Country Album for Cowboy Carter, showcasing her unmatched versatility. Sabrina Carpenter took home Best Pop Solo Performance for Espresso and Best Pop Vocal Album for Short n’ Sweet.
